COEUR d'ALENE - A Hayden resident's credit card took an unexpected trip to France last week.
The resident, who said she rarely uses her credit card, reported an unauthorized transaction of more than $1,500 to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office on Friday.
According to an incident report, the resident said her bank contacted her, asking if she had made the purchase in France. When she replied that she did not, the card was canceled.
Since she rarely uses the card, she was able to identify an online purchase of medical equipment as the last legitimate transaction made. She contacted the website and they informed her no one had used her credit card number.
