Freda I. McCumber, 92, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, September 30, 2013 in Kennewick Washington with grandson Tracy Petragallo and granddaughter in law Carol Petragallo by her side. Freda was born on September 19, 1921 in Bozeman, Montana to Ernest H. Williams and Edna Dale. On July 13, 1942, she married Gerald “Jerry” G. McCumber in Ellensburg, Washington. Freda and Jerry lived in many different places in the Pacific Northwest over the course of their nearly 50 year marriage. They lived in Seattle and Asotin WA as well as Lake Sammamish and Colfax WA. In 1987 they moved to the Spokane/Post Falls area. During her working career, Freda was a bookkeeper, real estate agent, and a banker. She enjoyed many hobbies and was always working on a project or two. She loved quilting, cross stitch, and always had music playing. Freda and Jerry did a lot of dancing in their earlier years. They especially loved to Jitterbug. Freda was preceded in death by her husband Gerald G. McCumber, her son, Patrick McCumber and her grandson Rick McCumber. She is survived by her daughters Dail Dansereau of Post Falls, Jeri Burnam of Asotin Washington, and daughter in law Astrid McCumber of Post Falls. She had 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4th at 1pm at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
