James D. “Jim” Wilson, 98, passed away Sept. 26, 2013, at The Life Care Center of Post Falls, Idaho. Jim was born on Dec. 14, 1914, in Livingston, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years (Elsie), his parents, two sisters and one brother. He leaves behind his daughter (Lynn) and son (Ken); one brother (Lawrence) and four sisters (Dester, Bonnie, Ruth, Georgia); several nieces/nephews, grandchildren/great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family and friends.
Jim had many interests in life. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge since 1955; he enjoyed hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and search-and-rescue with the Tacoma Mountaineers; and was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association and Hillyard Belles, where he was best known for playing the fiddle. Friends and family will forever remember Jim for his special sense of humor, his outgoing and friendly personality, and for his love of making music. He will be greatly missed!
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Hospice of North Idaho and to the nursing staff at Life Care Center of Post Falls for their loving and compassionate care during the past several months.
At his request no services will be held. Remembrances in Jim’s name can be made to the Hospice of North Idaho or the Alzheimer’s Association.
