SOUZA: The one for all of us
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 3 months AGO
Mary Souza is the only mayoral candidate to have taken positions for the benefit of ALL the people and not just a select few. Exposing what is actually happening within our city government, so all the voters know what is really taking place, has been the goal of Mary in her newsletters. The voters of Coeur d’Alene need a City Council that is transparent in its dealings, and that represents all the voters. This has clearly not been the case for a long time.
The approval of McEuen Park without a public vote when unemployment hit near historical highs, our country and state suffered horrific economic downturns, and city property taxes are continually increasing, is distressing. We still lost the boat launch (yes we will), and the baseball fields, which should be enough for anyone to vote for Mary Souza.
Mary helped lead the recall campaign. One of her opponents was very active in the “decline to sign” campaign. The same group that initiated and supported decline to sign is the very same group that is supporting this same opponent.
The actions of our City Council have clearly not supported all the people. It is ALL the people’s property taxes that pay for McEuen Park (LCDC is funded by your city property taxes). When you see the restored downtown and McEuen Park (at least $20+ million and quickly counting) in all their glory, then drive down dilapidated streets and run down neighborhoods that really are in need of repair, maybe you will take the time to vote. Our city has many needs, most of which are not downtown.
Mary has fought hard to make a difference for all of you, the voters. Don’t miss the chance to help make the right change with the right vote. Vote Mary Souza for mayor, a mayor for ALL the people.
