COEUR d'ALENE - For the past two Christmas seasons, The Coeur d'Alene Resort has welcomed performers to the stage for a festive holiday musical. These performances have become part of the family tradition of The Coeur d'Alene Resort Holiday Light Show.

"Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre has done a fabulous job over the years and we regret that they will not be able to produce a show in our Resort this year," said Jerry Jaeger, president and co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality Co. "We commend the board of directors, the talent, staff and all the wonderful volunteers who have made Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre such a great part of our community and it will be missed."

Joe Anderson, president of Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre's board of directors, said his organization will be reimbursing those who purchased tickets for the previously planned Summer Theatre holiday show, "Christmas My Way."

When it appeared there would be no Christmas show this year, Ellen Travolta stepped up. The longtime Coeur d'Alene resident and veteran of stage, film and TV says she will present a show this season at The Resort. The new show, "A Christmas Cabaret," stars Mark Cotter with special guest Jack Bannon.

"This will be a wonderful evening for people who enjoy music, laughter and stories," Travolta said.

"We're thrilled to continue our wonderful Christmas traditions here at The Coeur d'Alene Resort," said Bill Reagan, general manager of The Resort. "That includes our Journey to the North Pole cruises, our Friday after Thanksgiving fireworks extravaganza and all of the many other activities we have planned for the holidays."

There will only be 14 performances of "A Christmas Cabaret" scheduled from Friday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 21. Thursday through Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person or $20 each for groups of eight or more.
