Dallas R Gowdy, 75, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 in Desmet, ID. He was born August 27, 1938 in Desmet, ID, to Averill D Gowdy and Delphine Z Gowdy.
After graduating high school, he attended Seattle University in the late 1950’s. He then served in the Army for seven years in the artillery division. Early on he worked as a firefighter in Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA. For the last eight years, he was employed at Circling Raven Golf Course as a golf course mechanic. He was a professional golfer and bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dallas is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Beatrice Ward, and her husband, Vern Ward; daughters, Tracy Mays of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Paige Murakami of Eagle, ID. He had seven grandchildren: Jerry, Josh, Justin, Anna, Alana, Brooke, and Britney.
A Rosary Service will be held Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Long House in Desmet, ID. A breakfast will then be held at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Long House, in Desmet, ID. Following the service, at approx. 12:00 Noon p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, a Veteran Burial Service will be held at the Desmet Cemetery in Desmet, ID. A dinner will follow the burial service at the Sacred Heart Long House in Desmet, ID.
The family would appreciate if anyone attending would bring a dessert.
