QUINCY - Halloween is less than a month away and pumpkins are ready as the Quincy Valley Lions Club has opened its Harvest Maze and Pumpkin Patch with activities for all ages.

Lions Club members Anne Durfee and Eva Young said afternoons have been busy at Becerra Gardens near Quincy since opening the first weekend in October. They said this is the fourth year the Lions Club has sponsored the maze and pumpkin patch.

The area, which is open until Oct. 27, features a children's maze as well has a haunted maze. Participants are given a list of items to find throughout the maze, if they don't get lost. Small prizes are available for children who can find all the items.

There are also concessions, painting, games, firepits and of course, pumpkins.

The maze and pumpkin patch are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays in October. The cost is $5 and includes the maze, games and a pumpkin. Extra pumpkins are available at an additional cost. Parents get in free when accompanying a child younger than age 6. Arrangements can also be made for large groups or parties.

The maze is located at 9074 Rd. K NW just east of Quincy.

For more information or to make arrangements for a large group or party, call 509-787-0840, 509-989-1298, or send an email to amado@becerragardens.com
