City hosts open house on 93 West corridor plan
Whitefish Pilot | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 11 years, 9 months AGO
A public meeting to discuss the Whitefish Highway 93 West corridor plan is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The open house is an opportunity for the public to provide input on the organization, land use and character of the corridor.
The City of Whitefish has contracted with WGM Group and Sitescape Associates to prepare a corridor plan focusing on future land use for the highway from Miles Avenue to the Mountainside Drive area. The corridor is the gateway entrance into Whitefish from the north and includes a mix of uses ranging from suburban residential, resort residential, resort business, low-density residential, and high-density residential, changing to commercial after the highway crosses the Whitefish River and enters downtown.
The open house is part of an ongoing public process that began with an initial input meeting held on Aug. 20, and will include two more public involvement meetings.
For more information, visit the City of Whitefish website at www.whitefish.govoffice.com. Project specific information can be found by clicking on “Projects” and selecting “Highway 93 West Corridor Land Use Plan Information.”
Comments concerning the project may be mailed to: Dave Taylor, City of Whitefish, Planning & Building Director, P.O. Box 158, Whitefish, MT 59937. Comments may be submitted by email to wf93wcorridorplan@wgmgroup.com. Participants attending the public open house are welcome to submit comments at that time.
