DEER LODGE — Deer Lodge completed a consecutive-weeks sweep of Lake County’s Class B schools, this time pummeling Ronan, 49-15.

The Wardens shut down Ronan leading rusher Lucas Gerhardt, holding the big back to just 25 yards on 10 carries.

Quarterback Connor Benn shouldered most of the rushing load for Ronan, carrying 13 times for 62 yards.

Benn also did some damage through the air to his favorite target Bryce Cullen. The junior snared four passes for 89 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown in the second stanza.

Cole Snyder also caught three passes for 60 yards.

Benn threw a season-high 22 times as the Chiefs were playing from behind much of the game. He completed 10 of those passes for 167 yards, a touchdown and an interception that was returned 44 yards for a Warden TD.

The Chiefs also fumbled four times, losing all of them.

Ronan hopes to get things back on track this week at Thompson Falls.
