Annual Art and Wine Walk tomorrow in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - Local wine and local artists will be the attraction at the second annual Art and Wine Walk, scheduled for from 1 to 5 p.m. tomorrow downtown.

The art and wine walk is sponsored by the Moses Lake Business Association. The wine tasting requires tickets, but walking around perusing the art is free.

Participants in the wine tasting register at the MLBA booth in Sinkiuse Square at the intersection of Ash Street and West Third Street. They receive a wine glass and a map of participating businesses, wineries and artists, MLBA Director Jasmyne DeBeaumont said.

Silver Sage Design owner Lenae Haugen will display her original paintings, and Red Door co-owner Jan Thacker and granddaughter Alex Boorman will display their works at Red Door. Faye's Books and Crafts owner Faye Mitchell will have original artwork on display at her business.

The Health Zone will sponsor an artists market, DeBeaumont said, and Moses Lake artist Rebekah Littlefield will have an exhibit at Uncommon Threads.

Tykes 2 Kids will have a massage therapist. Artists Melea Johnson and Angela Greene will exhibit at True Step, Francisco Guzman at Third and Alder Salon, Chris Blevins at Imbibe, and Rie Palkovic at Art Garden Pottery. Ken Russell and Charles E. Smith will have paintings at Michael's Market and Bistro. Other businesses participating include Eden Salon, Sue's Gift Boutique and Reffett Downtown Loan Co.

Spokane artist Edward Gilmore will have an exhibit in Sinkiuse Square, and so will local photographer Holly Stockton. Sheldon Townsend and the Moses Lake Muses will be in the square also, along with the Moses Lake Public Library Foundation, Columbia Basin Allied Arts and the Moses Lake Museum and Art Center. Joe Zamora also will display artworks.

Participating wineries include Neppel Cellars and Camas Cove Cellars, Moses Lake; Frenchman Hills Winery, Royal City; Columbia Crest, Paterson; Ginkgo Forest Winery, Mattawa; White Heron Cellars and Beaumont Cellars, Quincy and 14 Hands Winery, DavenLore Winery and Milbrandt Vineyards, Prosser.

Wine tasting tickets are $20 per person, $30 per couple if purchased in advance, $25 per person, $35 per couple if purchased tomorrow. Tickets are available at the Columbia Basin Herald, Gary Mann Real Estate, Sue's Gift Boutique, Art Garden Pottery, Imbibe, Eden Salon, Health Zone and Uncommon Threads.
