Lake City rallies past Post Falls

COEUR d'ALENE - Post Falls won the first game, but Lake City rebounded to win the next three for a 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, 25-16 victory in 5A Inland Empire League volleyball Thursday night at Lake City High.
Madi Farrell had 16 kills and nine digs, and Haile Watson added 16 kills and six digs for Lake City (19-6, 3-2 5A IEL). Natalie Taylor had nine kills and 13 digs, Kasey Widmyer eight kills and 17 digs, CC Cates 39 assists and nine digs for the Timberwolves.
Amanda Westlake had 10 kills, 16 digs and three aces for Post Falls (8-22, 0-5). Brenna Meehan added 13 assists and six blocks, Lydea Schneider 13 assists for the Trojans.
Post Falls plays at Coeur d'Alene on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the annual "Volleyball 4 the Cure" match for breast cancer awareness. Lake City plays host to Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Megan Ramseyer had 17 kills, 14 assists and five digs as the Vikings swept the visiting Bears 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 on senior night.
Sydney Williams added eight kills for Coeur d'Alene (17-9), Miranda Miller five assists, Sydney Williams three blocks, Ali Williams three aces, Darby Lyon two.
"Tonight's match was a great celebration of our senior class," Coeur d'Alene coach Dee Pottenger said. "The girls played some really good volleyball."
Coeur d'Alene plays host to Post Falls on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the "Volleyball 4 the Cure" match for breast cancer awareness.

St. Maries
SPIRIT LAKE - Ayla Jelinek had seven kills and eight digs as the host 3A Tigers downed the 2A Lumberjacks 25-14, 26-24, 25-22 in nonleague play.
Shea Dretke added seven kills, five digs and two blocks for Timberlake (3-21). Courtney Eaton had four kills, seven assists, 11 digs and three aces; Jacquelyn Mallet had five kills, eight digs and two aces; and Matraca Rocheleau had 13 assists, 10 digs and two aces.
Kari Ghramm had 10 kills, Kelsey Auer 18 assists for St. Maries (4-14). Madi McQueen had 12 digs, Haylee Waddell two blocks, Kerstin Auer one ace.
On Saturday, St. Maries plays host to Grangeville and Orofino in a tri-match. Timberlake travels to Priest River on Tuesday.

Kootenai
MULLAN - Sydney Koenig had seven kills, five blocks and two assists to lead the Tigers past the Warriors 25-20, 17-25, 25-19, 25-15 in a North Star League match at the Mullan Pavilion.
Charli Sadler had seven assists, two aces and three kills and Robbyn Trogden four kills and three assists for Mullan (7-2, 5-2 NSL), which travels to Lakeside on Tuesday.
Lacy Goodsen had nine kills, two blocks and two assists, Grace McInturff five kills and three blocks and Austin Andersen five digs for Kootenai (0-14, 0-8), which is off until the 1A District 1 Division II tournament at Lake City High in Coeur d'Alene on Oct. 21.

PULLMAN - The Royals won at Pullman Christian 25-9, 25-15, 25-14 in a Mountain Christian League match.

North Idaho Christian (11-2, 8-2 MCL) will travel to face House of the Lord on Monday at Priest River Elementary School.
