COEUR d'ALENE - The Kootenai County Board of Commissioners is looking for citizens who are interested in serving on county advisory boards.

The boards offer the public a greater impact on local decisions by providing recommendations to the appropriate county decision-makers. Applications for the boards are accepted throughout the year as vacancies may occur at any time.

Two of the boards have vacancies now: the Aquifer Protection District and Natural Resource Advisory Board.

Boards that have terms expiring in the next three months are the Airport Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Natural Resource Advisory Board, Noxious Weed Advisory Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, Snowmobile Advisory Board and the Waterways Advisory Board.

The public may obtain an application by going to the county website at www.kcgov.us or contacting Teri Johnston in the commissioner's office at 446-1601. Applications for these boards are due by Nov. 15.
