Post Falls High athletics to honor five

POST FALLS - Tabitha Bailey, Burt Beamer, Ron Davis, Dan Nipp and the late Scott Floch will be inducted into the Post Falls High School Athletic Hall of Fame at a banquet scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Templin's Red Lion.
Bailey, a 1992 Post Falls High graduate, averaged 15.4 points and 11 rebounds for her Trojan basketball career. She was a two-time all-state selection, a two-time USA Today All-American, and Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year her senior year. Bailey went on to play at Pepperdine.
Beamer, a 1994 grad, posted a high school record of 109-15-1, which at the time was the most wrestling wins in school history. He was a state champion in 1992, second in '93 and third in '94. He was a two-time Tri-State champion, a three-time letter winner in football and lettered once in track. Beamer went on to wrestle at Northern Iowa.
Davis, a 1966 grad, lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track, and was a member of the 1964 state boys basketball championship team. He was a running back, tight end and punter at Idaho, where he was fifth in the nation in punting as a sophomore, and in the top in the nation in punting as a senior. He is fifth all-time for average yards punting in a season with 42.4.
Nipp coached and taught at Post Falls High from 1976-2006. He was assistant football coach and head track coach for 23 years before becoming an assistant track coach, working with the throwers for seven years. He coached 13 state champions - seven in the discus, six in the shot put. From 1992 to '97, he coached a state champion in either the discus or the shot each year. Among others, he coached former Trojan throwing great Ian Waltz.
Floch, who graduated in 1989, averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots as a junior, and 19 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks as a senior. His senior year he was named Naismith Idaho Player of the Year, and also nominated for the Converse All-American team. He was an all-state first-team selection and a McDonald's All-American. Floch died in 1989.
The banquet starts off with a no-host bar scheduled for 5 p.m.
