HARRISON - City Councilman Rich Lund is looking for another four-year term on the council, saying there are some issues that need to be resolved.
"We are currently dealing with issues over the Powderhorn and Stonegate annexations, and parking and use at the waterfront," said Lund, 62.
He has been on the council two other times during the past 30 years. He is also on the board of the Harrison Urban Renewal District.
"I have knowledge of the issues the city has dealt with in the past," Lund said. "I also have deep roots in this town and want it to remain a great place to live, raise a family and retire."
Lund, who has a master's degree in both educational administration and guidance and counseling, is one of four people running for three seats on the council with four-year terms.
"I believe the current council has done a good job and want to continue in that direction," Lund said. "We need to deal with issues with the annexed properties, waterfront, and city streets."
Lund worked for the Kootenai School District for 35 years, including the last 15 years as the high school principal. He retired from the district five years ago, but returned as interim superintendent for six months.
He spends his free time outdoors, fishing and hunting. He also attends his grandchildren's school and sports activities.
He has lived in Harrison all of his life, as his parents had done. He has been married for 42 years.
He graduated from Kootenai High School and went away to college, where he met his wife, Susie. They were married in 1972, and returned to Harrison after he graduated from college.
"We raised two daughters here and now have retired in one of the greatest places to live," he said.
