'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' at LCHS

Lake City High School Performing Arts Department continues the 2013 season with a new production of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." This new take, based on the MGM blockbuster film of the same name, includes a revised script and new orchestrations.
It also includes "some of the most energetic dancing ever to be seen on the LCHS stage," states a press release.
The show runs at the school tonight and Oct. 19, 24-26 at 7 p.m.
Set in 1850s Oregon territory, Seven Brides tells the story of Adam and his six younger brothers' pursuit for brides. Adam goes to town to get a wife and convinces a young woman named Milly to marry him that same day. They return to his backwoods home, only for Milly to discover that all six of Adam's brothers also live in the log cabin. She sets out to reform the ill-mannered siblings, who are anxious to get wives of their own. Then, Adam develops an inspired solution to his brothers' loneliness - kidnap the women they want.
The show stars Kelly Stagner and Gabe Geesey as Milly and Adam, who are at the center of this musical love story.
Ticket prices are $5 to $7 and can be purchased in person from Karen in the office of Lake City High School or at the door.
