T-Wolves triumph; Cd'A falls in 5

MOSCOW - CC Cates had 19 assists to lead the Lake City Timberwolves past the Moscow Bears 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 on Thursday night in a nonleague match at Bear Den.
Haile Watson had 11 kills and two blocks, Kaity Widmyer 13 digs and Shelby Johnson three aces for Lake City (20-7), which hosts third-seeded Coeur d'Alene to open the 5A Region 1 tournament on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Lake City was deemed the No. 2 seed for regionals via tiebreaker, after beating Coeur d'Alene (19-9) in five of the eight sets during league play this year. No. 4 Post Falls will travel to top-seeded Lewiston in the other regional match on Tuesday.

SANDPOINT - Megan Ramseyer had 14 kills and 29 assists for the Vikings in a 25-17, 25-15, 21-25, 19-25, 15-13 loss to the Bulldogs in a nonleague match at Les Rogers Court.
Darby Lyon had 14 digs, Missy Huddleston nine digs and Miranda Miller 11 kills for Coeur d'Alene (19-10), which travels to Lake City on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the opening round of the 5A Region 1 tournament.
Taylor Martin had 23 kills, Hannah Neumann 15 kills and 13 digs, Hailey Dunn 23 assists and four aces and Emma Liband three aces for Sandpoint (20-11), which travels to Moscow on Saturday to conclude 4A Inland Empire League play.
Trojans take two
at tri-match
POST FALLS - Brenna Meehan had 19 kills and five aces to lead the Post Falls Trojans past the Lakeland Hawks 22-25, 28-26, 20-25, 26-24, 15-4 in a nonleague match at The Arena.
Lydea Schneider had 21 assists, Shayna Allert 13 digs, Kiah McGowan three blocks for Post Falls.
Morgan Landers had eight kills, two aces and eight digs, Kayla Fahlenkamp eight kills and three blocks and Hailey Tierney 13 digs for Lakeland.
Earlier, Amanda Westlake had 11 kills, 18 digs and three aces as the Trojans beat Priest River 25-14, 19-25, 26-24, 15-25, 15-11.
Meehan had 17 assists, McGowan six blocks and Brooke Sausser three aces for Post Falls (10-23), which competes in a tri-match on Saturday against Lakeland and Mt. Spokane in Rathdrum.
Karly Douglas had 15 assists for Priest River in a 23-25, 25-11, 25-20, 25-23 win against Lakeland in the other match at The Arena.
Kelly Ramus had 13 kills, Fahlenkamp 11 kills, Haley Rotchford five aces for Lakeland (5-14) against Priest River (13-5).

COEUR d'ALENE - Senior Taylor Garn had 16 assists and senior Taylor Petticolas had 29 digs to lead the Panthers to a 25-23, 14-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-9 win against the Knights in a nonleague match at Holy Family Catholic School.
"It was really great to get a win for our seniors in their last home game," Coeur d'Alene Charter coach Krista Brand said.
Anna Verhaeghe had nine kills and eight blocks, Stephanie Kociela eight kills and 26 digs and Libby Goodwin six aces for Coeur d'Alene Charter (8-15), which faces Orofino in the opening round of the 2A District 1-2 tournament at Moscow High on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Avery Brown-Sonder had nine aces, nine kills and 30 digs, Cailyn Dohrman 14 blocks, six kills and two aces, Kim Duncan seven kills, 18 digs and one ace, Talia Hendrickx 24 assists, 23 digs, Sheyenne Shamburg 18 digs and Te'a Lambert 20 digs for Lakeside (12-8), which faces Wallace in the first game of a best-of-3 game 1A Division I District 1 tournament on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Timberlake High.
"We were down two starters and had to switch stuff around at the last minute, but they played strong all night," Lakeside co-coach Kellee Johnson said.

COEUR d'ALENE - Liz Bookamer had seven kills and Rayla Andrews had six aces and five blocks for the Royals in a 18-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 loss to the Warriors in a Mountain Christian League match at Venture High.
Maura Lund had seven digs and Breanna Clemans had 14 assists for North Idaho Christian (14-3, 10-3 MCL), which travels to Christian Center in Hayden on Tuesday.
Grace Bible (13-0 MCL) clinches at least a tie for the league title.
