BERT: Awesome health care appreciated
I would like to publicly thank those who were so helpful and kind to me and my family on Aug. 16 when my husband, Bert Anderson, passed away.
The Northern Lakes EMS teams that transported my husband to and from Kootenai Health did an awesome job caring for both me and my husband at a traumatic time in our lives.
Dr. Michael Ettner and the emergency room staff, especially Ryan and Eric, were wonderful. Your gentleness and compassion were greatly appreciated even if we weren't able to express it at that moment.
Special thanks to Hospice of North Idaho in particular the hospice liaison at Kootenai Health that day that let us know that realistically we were looking at hours not days before Bert would pass. That enabled us to notify all the family and for those who could to make it to his bedside in time to say goodbye.
I'd also like to thank Papa John, Mama Ruth Filler and all the Gateway family for all the love and support, phone calls, food and hugs. You are all an awesome family. God is so good - all the time!

PASTOR: Great support of our veterans
American Legion and AL Auxiliary recently enjoyed a delicious spaghetti meal served by Pastor Dave Bruyette and his congregation of the Mountain Lakes Bible Church located on Seventh Avenue. Pastor Dave is such a wonderful supporter of our veterans. He promotes serving them in many small ways.
Last summer he and the congregation held a car wash for the benefit of American Legion. While the men of Post No. 14 Coeur d'Alene have no building, having sold their building on Fourth Street, he has opened up a meeting room in his church allowing these men to gather for their meetings on a regular basis.
We continue to be an active Post and Unit in this area because of the kindnesses shown by this small church. Thank you to Dave and to all who are in his midst. We appreciate all of your generosity.

SUPPORT: Made possible 'Run for the Angels'
On behalf of the friends, family and board of directors of the Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Coeur d'Alene Press, Digital Lizard, KNOCK Marketing, Coeur d'Alene Pediatrics, Dr. Brasch, Jitterz Espresso, Henneberg and Kim OBGYN, R & J Landscaping, Cornerstone Inc. and Kootenai Health. These 10 businesses individually donated $500 or more in cash and/or in-kind sponsorship support to our 2013 "Run for the Angels."
Fourteen other business donated between $250 and $150 and more than 50 businesses donated to our silent auction! It is because of the generosity of our community and our hardworking team of volunteers that Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation was able to raise more than $11,000 and bring 480 runners to Riverstone Park on Sunday, Oct. 6.
These donations will go directly back into our community to support bereaved families and to teach Safe Infant Sleep education in hopes of eliminating preventable infant deaths in Idaho. Thank you once again Coeur d'Alene Press for your support!
Sincerely,
