Dunn, Kluver help Bulldogs win 4A IEL

MOSCOW - Hailey Dunn served up seven aces to go with 25 assists, and Mariah Kluver anchored the back row with 16 digs, leading Sandpoint to a 25-13, 25-14, 22-25, 25-14 win over Moscow to capture the 4A Inland Empire League title on Saturday at the Bear Den.

Taylor Martin led the Bulldogs (20-11, 4-0 4A IEL) with 11 kills, giving her 34 in the past two games, and Emma Liband posted two blocks in the regular season finale against the Bears (13-11, 2-2 4A IEL).

"We dropped a game, but we were trying a different lineup. We played very steady," said Bulldogs head coach Karen Alsager, a Moscow native and former University of Idaho star. "Mariah played the best we've seen all season. She got everything up that came her way."

The Bulldogs, who have been playing their best volleyball of the season down the stretch, will host the 4A Region 1 volleyball tournament on Saturday at Les Rogers Court.

RATHDRUM - Lakeland beat Mt. Spokane but lost to Post Falls in a tri-match at Hawk Court, improving to 6-15 on the season.

The Trojans also beat Mt. Spokane at Lakeland.

No scores were reported.

Lakeland plays next Saturday in the 4A Region 1 volleyball tournament at Sandpoint.

Post Falls (12-23) plays Tuesday in the 5A Region 1 volleyball tournament as the No. 4 seed at No. 1 seed Lewiston.
