MOSES LAKE - The 2nd Harvest charitable organization will distribute food from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Moses Lake Senior Center, 608 East Third Ave.

Second Harvest provides food to anyone who comes to the distribution, Theresa Adkinson said, of the Grant County Public Health District. The health district works with 2nd Harvest on the monthly visit to Moses Lake, Adkinson said.

Because most of the distributions are at the senior center, some people have assumed the 2nd Harvest visit is for senior citizens only, Adkinson said. That's not true, she said - anybody who needs food is eligible, and the only requirement is bringing a box for the food.

"Even our volunteers - if they need food, they can grab a basket and fill up," she said. "They (2nd Harvest) will help anybody who can comes in."

There are no income or reporting qualifications, Adkinson said. No appointment is necessary.

People who need food but can't get to the distribution should provide a signed note for whoever is picking up the food, she said.

Distribution usually is on the fourth Wednesday of each month, usually at the senior center, Adkinson said. The distribution date may change in November and December because of the Christmas season, she said.

People who want more information on the distribution can contact the senior center, 509-765-7809, or the mobile food bank information line, 509-252-6270.
