To keep your fingers warm this winter, wrap them in the warmth of beautiful hand-knit mittens or gloves. Learn how to cast on with double-pointed needles and knit in the round. Sock with a pattern
Nov. 5, 12 and 19

The seamless raglan
Nov. 6, 13 and 20
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There are great advantages to seamless sweaters: They are very comfortable because they stretch in all directions, and having no seams, they require no sewing.
Fair Isle tam
Nov. 9, 16 and 23
10:15 to 11:45 a.m.
Fair Isle is well-known as a knitting method and a pattern type. Real Fair Isle patterns are built up in horizontal bands by knitting two colors yarns in each row. The motifs are clearly defined by careful selection of colors
Fair Isle is associated with patterned woolen garments, hats, gloves and scarves and have been hand-knitted for centuries in the small island of Fair Isle, which lies halfway between Shetland and Orkney.
In this class, learn this ancient, traditional way of knitting, which is like painting with yarn.
Shawls
Nov. 11, 18 and 25
6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
This class will help you create your own unique shawl. Learn about color, texture, pattern and design principles. The shawl is easy, but requires knowledge of casting on, binding off and basic knit stitches.
Open knitting
1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays
noon to 2 p.m. Saturdays
Is there an ailing sweater project in your life? A pattern suffering from confusion? A technique so cold it needs resuscitation? The store will help you get that project up and wearing.
In addition to knitting classes, Thimble and Spindle will offer classes for those interested in other crafts:
