Lady Red Devils struggle on court against competition

NOXON – The Lady Red Devils had a busy week playing two games against Valley Christian and Charlo. Both games ended in favor of the other teams with a score of 3 to 0.

During the home game against Valley Christian (11-25, 17-25, 9-25) the ladies gave it their all, playing hard against their opponents. Despite the heart they put in, the ladies were unable to gain a victory.

The ladies had 10 kills in all with Zoey Osborne and Nicole Zavoianu bringing in three. In total Noxon had three blocks with Zavoianu gaining two. The girls brought in 33 digs with Jessie Camara leading the pack with eight. Katie Chandler brought in three of Noxon’s six assists and Zavoianu and Asiah Jensen each had two of the five aces.

During a District 10-C game against Charlo, the ladies had two close sets, getting close to taking the last of the three. However, they were unable to do so and the final score was 7-25, 18-25, 22-25.

Zavoianu brought in all six of the Lady Red Devil’s kills and two of the team’s three blocks. The team had a very impressive 45 digs with Sara Webley and Michelle Zavoianu each getting ten. In total the team had 12 assists with Webley helping out eight times and the girls brought in five aces with Chandler and Katelyn Martens each having two.

The Lady Red Devils will continue on to play Arlee on October 24th at an away game. The last home game will be against Superior on Saturday, October 26 at 7 p.m.

Katie Chandler will be honored as senior night takes over the court, playing her last home game for the Noxon Lady Red Devils.

Head Coach Teri Wilkinson was unavailable for comment.
