When parents fear their children

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a couple of reports of crimes believed to have been committed by children or the friends of children of the victims.
An Antelope Trail man in Whitefish reported he believed his two children in their 20s broke into his safe and pawned his guns while he was in North Dakota.
An East Reserve Drive man reported two sheds on his property and his garage were broken into, and a riding lawnmower and other equipment were stolen. He reported his son hangs out with a suspicious crowd of “shady characters” he believed may have had something to do with the burglary.
A very drunk elderly man was helped home by the same person who called the Sheriff’s Office after finding him across the street from a U.S. 2 East bar in Martin City with a cut on his face, crawling on the ground. The elderly man told the helpful passerby he was at the bar too long and was drunk.
A problem with frisky feral cats was reported by a Hungry Horse woman, who said the cats kept reproducing under her First Street South East trailer.
A good Samaritan said he let a woman use his jacket on Spring Creek Drive because it was cold, and she stole his phone out of the pocket.
The office manager of a Woodland Park Drive storage facility reported someone drove a black Dodge across the grass and abandoned it there with the keys still in the ignition.
A Klondyke Loop resident reported a “taco dog” just ran through their front yard. The Chihuahua apparently escapes from its yard often, and an animal control officer reported its owner said he was “at a loss” trying to find a way to keep the animal in the yard.
An Edgewood Drive woman contacted the Sheriff’s Office after returning home Monday night to find someone had tried to pry open her door.
A pair of wandering donkeys were corralled back home after making their way onto a Hodgson Pines Way property.
A landlord called for a civil standby when his evicted tenants returned to pick up a pair of dogs, a pair of horses, a pair of ferrets and a turtle that they had left behind at the Timber Road property.
