The Stillwater Christian School boys soccer team will be going for its 11th-straight Montana Christian Athletic Association state championship today at SCS.

The Cougars (14-4-2) will face Yellowstone County Home School in the title match at 12:30 p.m.

Stillwater advanced with a 9-1 victory over Great Falls Home School on Thursday and followed with a tight 4-3 win over Heritage Christian on Friday.

“This match today was the toughest match we’ve seen in the MCAA in the last three years; what a great battle,” SCS coach Tim Anderson said of Heritage Christian game.

“The second half was a back-and-forth battle for position in the midfield and a great show of defense from both sides of the pitch, namely, Jaron Neuman (of Stillwater) and Eli Gossack (of Heritage). In the 62nd minute, Julian Emond sealed the match with a breakaway from the wing and a composed finish.”

Emond also scored the first goal of the match at 1:40.

Joe King and BJ Bach had the other goals for Stillwater.
