Young ballerinas have been working hard, preparing to participate in an annual Coeur d'Alene tradition - the Eugene Ballet Company's performance of "The Nutcracker."

The special performance is put on each year by Eugene Ballet and Debi Terracciano, owner of Le Danse Studio in Coeur d'Alene.

Many of the performers in the holiday classic - baby mice, angels, party children, flowers and more - will be portrayed by 48 local children. The children were auditioned in September by a Eugene Ballet representative.

This year's performance will take place Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at North Idaho College's Schuler Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are on sale now and cost $25 for adults, $10 for children under 18. They can be purchased in person at Le Danse, 1917 N. Fifth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814.

The studio is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and Fridays from 3-6 p.m.

Cash or checks only, no debit or credit cards. Tickets can also be purchased by sending a check for the correct number of seats by mail to the studio.
