WARDEN - Warden lost a close match to Columbia (Burbank) in three games (22-25, 23-25, 18-25) recently dropping the team to 5-6 in the South Central Athletic Conference East division and 5-8 overall.

"The team fought hard and played tough in a loss to second place Columbia," head coach Dennis Treat said. "Poor serving keyed the loss to Columbia. We missed 12 serves and lost by 12 total points over the three sets. Positive though was the Lady Cougars best spiking and defensive performance of the season."

Despite the loss, Warden nailed down the fourth and final playoff spot in the SCAC East division and will advance to the district tournament.

The first round of the district tournament begins on Nov. 5. Since Warden is the No. 4 seed in the East division the team will have to travel to face the No. 1 seed in the West division. Warden will either face Zillah or Naches Valley depending on the outcome of the end of the regular season.

Seniors Annie Martinez, Emily Pruneda and Alicia Pruneda were unable to close their volleyball careers with a win at home on Senior Night.

Outside hitter Shania Kisler finished with 10 kills, 14 digs and one ace. Setter Laurissa Kisler recorded 22 assists and five aces.

Warden closes out its regular season on the road Tuesday against Royal.
