MOSES LAKE - One person was injured Tuesday in a rollover wreck on West Valley Road in Moses Lake.
About 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, a driver lost control of an SUV while driving at a reported high rate of speed up the hill on West Valley Road near the Grant County Fairgrounds.
A witness told officers on scene he saw the driver speed off from a gas station down the road before losing control of the vehicle.
According to police, other drivers noticed the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and stopped when they realized the driver was not going to be able to make the turn up the hill. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and over corrected, driving across the center line and hitting the curb. The vehicle rolled onto its side off the road, trapping the driver inside.
Moses Lake firefighters were able to extricate the victim from the vehicle and the victim was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
Police said no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Traffic was slowed to one lane for about 20 minutes.
The victim's name was not released Tuesday.
