SCARY: A future with Mayor Mary

It’s Halloween week, and as I sit contemplating all things scary, I can think of nothing more frightful than the prospect of having Mary Souza as the “leader” of our community for the next four years! Her negativity, divisiveness, and “don’t confuse me with the facts” attitude are terrifying, to say the least. While she masquerades as a “person of the people,” time and again she has proven herself incapable of working with others in any constructive way. Her “victim” mentality leads her to constantly imply that there are conspiracies everywhere.

In her mind, the people who actually do the work and financially contribute their own money toward making positive improvements in our community are “elitists.” She seems to be in love with the sound of her own voice...written and verbal, disguising this as “transparency” when in fact it’s merely her own mysterious take on reality. If Mary is elected as mayor, our city will be in the dark for the next four years. Nothing positive will happen — no “moving forward” will take place. A spine-chilling thought!

Wouldn’t it be haunting for Mary to sit in the Community Room of the CdA Library during council meetings and look at the names of all the people on Heritage Wall who helped build this great resource for the community? These are the very folks she dissed and maligned in her columns, blogs, and other rants. Mary pretends that she “supported” the Library, the Kroc Center, and even McEuen Park, but did she ever personally help with any of these projects? There are those who DO, and those who WHINE. With the election only days away, we need to be very afraid!

Please vote for STEVE WIDMYER for mayor!
