Monday, Aug. 26
1:35 p.m. Report of a man and woman involved in a verbal disturbance on Lupfer Avenue.
10:26 p.m. A man and woman lying in a yard on West 7th Street were just “resting” for a little bit while on their way home.
Tuesday, Aug. 27
6:35 p.m. Report of a shoplifter who fled the scene on U.S. 93 South.
8:04 p.m. A resident on Lacy Lane reportedly trimmed some trees after being notified not to.
9:16 p.m. Fireworks were reported at Smith Fields.
11:50 p.m. A man reported to police that his girlfriend was driving intoxicated while he was in the car. The couple reportedly had been drinking at the golf course and at a bar. The woman pulled over near the high school and ran down the road. Keys were confiscated.
11:59 p.m. Skateboarders were on Whitefish Avenue.
Wednesday, Aug. 28
7:33 p.m. Someone was receiving threatening text messages and voicemails.
8:39 p.m. A man was reported missing after having left his home on Idaho Avenue to walk to Markus Foods. The man had been gone two and a half hours.
9:14 p.m. Report of four credit cards with fraudulent charges from out of state.
11:37 A resident on Waverly Place reported their roommate acting odd earlier in the evening and then jumping out of a two story window before leaving. The resident didn’t want the roommate to return.
Thursday, Aug. 29
3:11 a.m. An intoxicated male was riding a bicycle on U.S. 93 South and had fallen down a couple of times.
8:39 a.m. A report of a 1-year-old child being left alone at a home on E. 4th Street. A neighbor reported seeing the child standing in the door crying after seeing the father and mother both leave the home.
8:50 a.m. Report of a neighbor on Wisconsin Avenue verbally abusing and harassing another neighbor after their children were not getting along.
9:19 a.m. There was a verbal disagreement between a driver and a construction worker on E 2nd Street. The parties were separated.
10:49 a.m. Report of a Jeep Wrangler with a slashed tire while parked on Railway Street.
5:16 p.m. A white Subaru Legacy parked on 5th Street hadn’t moved in weeks.
5:36 p.m. A man was attempting to collect his belongings from a Waverly Place residence, but a roommate would not let him in.
Friday, Aug. 30
5:58 p.m. A large hole in the ground was reported near City Hall.
6:38 p.m. A man broke a window at McDonalds. He was upset about having to pay sales tax.
9:44 p.m. A large group of intoxicated Canadians at a rental on East 1st Street were being loud and inappropriate toward a minor girl. When asked to quiet down they told the reporting party, “F— off. We run this town.”
Saturday, Aug. 31
1:21 a.m. A man downtown was arrested for disorderly conduct and assault.
9:41 p.m. The preacher guy was yelling at customers at a bar on Central Avenue.
11:38 p.m. Report of a man who stole a banana from a store on U.S. 93 South. When confronted he became belligerent and showed some type of badge. He took a bite of the banana and left in a gold Cadillac.
Sunday, Sept. 1
1:41 a.m. An intoxicated man in an “I heart Whitefish” hat couldn’t find his hotel room.
12:20 p.m. An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Kalispell Avenue.
3:28 p.m. A red bicycle was stolen from Kalispell Avenue.
3:29 p.m. Dogs inside a car parked at a casino appeared to be stressed due to heat. A couple of men were preparing to smash the window when law enforcement showed up. The dog owner took the dogs home.
3:31 p.m. People were heard screaming inside a home on Kalispell Avenue. When police arrived the people said they would attempt to work out the issue as a family.
Monday, Sept. 2
3:12 a.m. A man with a shaved head was pounding on a motel door threatening to burn the place down. He found a new place to sleep for the night.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue
Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
Sled Dog Days pints for a purpose
Flathead Sled Dog Days is gearing up for its fifth annual dog sled race Jan. 6-8. Race organizers have partnered with the Whitefish Winter Carnival to become part of their festivities next month.

Whitefish businesswoman Diane Smith announced Thursday she has entered the race for Montana’s open congressional seat in the U.S. House.
