The Daily Inter Lake’s “Summer Photo Contest” has proven to be a roaring success so far, with nearly 600 photos submitted for the chance to win more than $2,500 in prizes.
Voting is now open, and you are invited to view the submissions at www.dailyinterlake.com/YourLifeCovered.
Just click on the Vote tab to get started; however, you will need to have a Facebook account and “like” the Inter Lake’s Facebook page to view the photos or to vote.
The theme of the contest is “Flathead Valley Through My Eyes,” and we have to hand it to our readers — they bring great perspective to the three contest categories: Scenic Flathead, People of the Flathead, and Animals of the Flathead. We trust you will be just as stunned as we have been at the quality of the submissions.
The grand prize will be a weekend getaway for two to Seattle from Oct. 11-13. The prize is sponsored by Flathead Travel Service of Kalispell and includes airfare for two, a two-night stay at the Edgewater Hotel in downtown Seattle, two tickets to the touring version of the Broadway play “The Wizard of Oz” and $250 spending money. Estimated value of the grand prize package is $1,500.
The grand-prize winner will be selected by the Daily Inter Lake and will be our favorite photo from all the entries.
First-, second- and third-place prizes also will be awarded in each of the three categories. First place is a $250 gift certificate to The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Second place is a $75 gift certificate to Snappy Sport Senter. Third place is a $35 gift certificate to When in Rome Pizzeria.
Voting will be active from today until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, with the grand prize and other winners to be announced by the Daily Inter Lake on Sunday, Sept. 15. You can vote once a day.
Because of the large volume of entries received, we encourage entrants and other voters to send links of their favorite photos to their friends to improve their chances of winning.
Voters also need to have Facebook accounts and “like” the Daily Inter Lake’s Facebook page.
