Glacier National Park officials lifted a temporary closure of Glacier National Park’s Trail of the Cedars that was prompted by damage from a storm last week.
The Aug. 29 storm brought rain, lightning and wind to the park that caused minor damage to trails, structures and roads on the west side of the park.
Along the boardwalk section of the Trail of the Cedars near Avalanche Creek, the storm snapped large cedar trees, resulting in damage that required repairs.
Red Rocks Overlook was damaged by a falling tree that hit a wooden deck and handrail, and the roof of a park-owned structure near Lake McDonald Lodge was damaged by trees.
Several vehicles near campgrounds and trailheads sustained damage from falling tree debris. But no injuries were reported due to the weather.
