Woman in custody following stabbing at Polson apartment

POLSON — A 33-year-old woman is in custody after an alleged stabbing that took place over Labor Day Weekend. Polson Police officers arrested Emilie Angel Yellowowl in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 1, after responding to a reported stabbing at the Lakeview Village Apartments.

A press release issued by the Polson Police Department identified the victim as a 60-year-old female, but did not provide her name. The victim was taken to St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula for treatment.

Following the incident, Yellowowl was jailed and charged with felony counts of criminal endangerment and assault with a weapon. A criminal investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Whitford hearing continued to Dec. 4

POLSON - The district court omnibus hearing for murder suspect Makueeyapee Whitford has been continued again, with Whitford's attorney Steven Eschenbacher requesting a six-week continuance in a brief court appearance Thursday. Eschenbacher indicated that the request is motivated by "outstanding discovery motions" that are still being processed.
