Democratic Montana Gov. Steve Bullock is coming to Nordicfest.
“I’m excited to come to Libby’s Nordicfest this year,” Bullock said. “It is a fantastic event with great people, entertaining shows and amazing food, not to mention it is in one of the most beautiful areas of the state. It’s events like Nordicfest that give Montana its charm and make it a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
Mike Wessler, Bullock’s deputy communications director, confirmed the governor’s visit. Unfortunately, shortly after the parade, Bullock will have to return to Helena for other business.
The parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Nordicfest Committee President Les Nelson acknowledged Bullock’s plans to attend Saturday, saying he could not recall whether a sitting governor has ever attended the late summer festival.
“I remember (U.S. Sen.) Max Baucus walking in the parade,” Nelson said.
