Residents file for council seats

Moyie Springs residents will see familiar names on the ballot on Nov. 5.

Incumbent city council members Stephen (Steve) Economu and Chad Farrens are both seeking another term and are running unopposed for the two open seats.

In Moyie Springs, incumbent Douglas Evans is vying for mayor against Rosanne Smith.

City of Bonners Ferry city council member Thomas (Tom) Mayo is seeking another term and is running against Ron Smith and Matthew Solt for the two open seats. The two candidates with the most votes will fill the seats.

Newly appointed councilman Bob Blanford is not running for election and will stay seated until January when the elected councilman begin their four-year term. Blanford was appointed by Mayor David Anderson at the Sept. 3 City Council meeting.

No election is being held for Paradise Valley Fire Commissioner District 3 and South Boundary Fire Protection District Commissioner District 1 because those holding the seats are unopposed.
