Dragon boats race on north side of Flathead

BIGFORK — A number of local teams competed in the Montana Dragon Boat Festival on Flathead Lake this weekend.

The Drinkers of the Lake, a Polson-based team made up of members of the Flathead Lakers, finished 28th with an average time of 2 minutes, 41.29 seconds for the 500-meter course.

The Cherry Valley Cruisers, members of the Cherry Valley Elementary School staff finished 52nd (2:54.01), and the Polson-based Flathead Lake Montley Crew finished just behind them in 53rd (2:54.35).
