A trailer house on Halfmoon Road behind the Blue Moon rodeo grounds was damaged by smoke from a fire on Saturday morning, Sept. 14.

Columbia Falls fire chief Rick Hagen said his volunteer firefighters confined the fire to one end of the trailer house, but there was intense smoke inside the structure.

A 16-year-old girl was in the bedroom, where the fire started, and suffered minor injuries when she escaped by running through the flames.

Hagen said the fire might have been started by a candle. He also said the owner wasn't covered by insurance.
