Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre stages “The Wizard of Oz” starting this weekend.

Catch the classic story Friday and Saturday and again Sept. 27, 28 and 29 at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.

There’s no place like Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre to be transported to the wondrous discoveries of the Emerald City and the characters of Oz. After a tornado sweeps Dorothy from her Kansas home, she encounters both wickedness and wonder, wizard and witch, Munchkin and monkey.

Dorothy and her newfound friends journey on a quest to find heart, courage, brains and most importantly, home. Following the traditional storyline of the MGM classic movie, there are enough memorable tunes to bring a smile to every age.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sept. 29.

Tickets are $11 for adults, $9 for seniors, $8 for students and $7 for children 10 and under. Purchase tickets at Electric Avenue Gifts or at the box office.

Today, purchase tickets at the box office at a special price: $6 for any performance. The box office is open from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
