Coeur d'Alene Steelers 24, Post Falls Saints 0: Ethan Skelton scored on a 32-yard reverse for the visitors; Bayley Throm threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Araiza, and Brennen Crawford and Devon Johnson scored on runs of 57 and 46 yards, respectively.
Lakeland Green 27, Coeur d'Alene Jags 13: Cameron Tony scored on a 34-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for the Jags, with Thomas Schmidt running in the extra point, Todd Callaghan caught a 30-yard pass from Ryan Rios for the Jags' other score.
Seventh grade
Post Falls Vandals 43, Coeur d'Alene Chargers 6: Tyler Maddox scored four touchdowns for the Vandals, including a return on the opening kickoff, followed by 2 TDs from Carsen Daughenbaugh and one TD from Jake Mamola. The Chargers came up with a TD late in the game.
Post Falls Ducks 30, Coeur d'Alene Packers 24: Wyatt Shelly scored the go-ahead touchdown on a quarterback sneak in the final minute for the Ducks, and Kyle Young made a game-saving tackle in the open field.
Jake Rutherford and Shilo Morgan scored in the first half for the Ducks, and it was 12-12 at halftime. The Packers scored twice in the second half, and led 24-12 with three minutes to play. Wyatt Shelly threw a 50-yard TD pass to Jake Rutherford, then the Ducks recovered an onside kick, and Shelly scored on a 20-yard keeper to tie the game.
Fifth grade
Post Falls Broncos 20, Coeur d'Alene Vikings 14: Roddy Romero scored two touchdowns, one on a 50-yard pass from Ty Pottenger, the other on a 40-yard fumble return, for the Vikings. Pottenger also had an interception and a fumble recovery, and rushed for 65 yards. Luke McLaughlin ran for 70 yards, and Jack Prka was 4 of 6 for 40 yards.
BASEBALL
The Coeur d'Alene Venom held on to beat the Spokane Valley Venom 9-8 in Spokane Babe Ruth 17-and-under play. Brendan Delgado struck out three and gave up one run on one hit in four innings for the win. He also had an RBI double.
Keaton Howard and Matt Averett each went 2 for 2 with an RBI; Neil Thomasson was 2 for 4 with a double; Payten Zahnow was 1 for 3 and scored two runs; Yancy Davis was 1 for 3 with an RBI; Nate Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with an RBI, and earned the save; and Reegan Jacobson was 1 for 2 and drove in two runs.

Coeur d'Alene Sting under-11 boys Newcastle: The Sting defeated FC Spokane Black 5-3. Rylan Carter scored two goals for the Sting, and Brayden Bengtson, Chris Swider and Cooper Proctor each scored once. Noah Janzen had two assists, Swider and Bengtson one.
Sting U9 boys Manchester: The Sting beat the Idaho Thunder U10 team 5-3. Caden Thompson and Landon Sternberg each scored two goals for the Sting, and Nate Wyatt headed in one goal.
Sting U12 girls Whitecaps: The Sting beat the MYSC Force 4-1 on Sunday in Puget Sound Premier League play. Jordan Roth had two goals and an assist for the Sting, and Geneva Bengtson and Jaizee Cessna each had one goal.
Sting U12 boys Valencia: The Sting tied the Emerald City FC M01 Green 1-1 on Sept. 21. Ty Shaw scored for the Sting, assisted by Cameron Dance. Later that afternoon the Sting tied MVP Rapids 01 Navy 2-2. Drake Prohaska scored both Sting goals, with assists by Kyler Sorensen andJackson Henkle.
Sting U11 girls Sounders: The Sting defeated the SSC Shadow-Boxx 5-1 on Sept. 21. Sting goals were scored by Cailyn Garza (assisted by Olivia Wyatt), Samantha Veare, Olivia Wyatt, Kamryn Becker and Mya Peterson (assisted by Dillen Duncan).

Sting U9 girls: The Sting beat Moscow United 5-1 in its first game last Saturday. Taleya Jones and Mackenzie Goings each scored twice, and Jocelyn Dennis scored once. Cadie Jo Greenbank and Madison Symons each had two saves.
In their second game on Saturday, the Sting beat Moscow United 6-1. Madison Symons scored a hat trick, Mackenzie Goings scored two goals, Taleya Jones one. Madison Symons had two saves, one of which was a blocked penalty kick, and Cadie Jo Greenbank had one save.
Sting U13 girls Galaxy: The Sting beat the PS Slammers 6-4 in the competitive Puget Sound Premier League. Chloe Teets scored the first two goals, both assisted by Sarah Swider. Sydnee Rud added two goals, Sarah Swider one, and Maddie Morris scored off a penalty kick.
Sting U14 girls Barcelona: The Sting beat the Spokane Foxes FC 99' Black 6-2 in Spokane. Megan Drake and Annica Wilson each scored two goals, and Larissa Bailey and Anna Hilbert each scored once.
Sting U10 boys Celtic: The Sting played twice last Saturday at Hayden Meadows Elementary. In the first game the Sting beat the Spokane Shadow Barcelona 4-3 with Lucas Woods scoring two goals, Bryce Allred and Tyler Allred one each. Later that day, the Sting lost 2-1 to the Spokane Shadow Arsenal with Lucas Woods scoring the lone goal for the Sting (2-1).
Sting U10 girls Thorn: The Sting lost to the Shadow Real 6-0 in Shadow League play.
Sting U10 girls Reign: The Sting beat Three Rivers (Tri-Cities) 3-1. Amy Corette scored two goals, and Taytum Curtis had a goal and an assist.
The Sting lost 4-2 to Shadow Valley. Amy Corette and Myah Rietze each scored goals for the Sting.
The Sting lost 2-0 to the Shadow Real.
Lakeland Nighthawks U11 boys Mooney: The Nighthawks beat the SSC Spokane United Donovan 11-0 in WSYSA District 6 League play Saturday at Betty Kiefer Elementary in Rathdrum. Dawson Marsh scored five goals, Brody Singer and Nickolas Zubaly two each, and Kevin Dunn and Ely Jolly one each for the Nighthawks. Dawson Marsh, Nicholas Zubaly and Ron Rojas teamed for the shutout in goal.
The Academy Idaho U11 boys: The CADS U11 boys team opened its Puget Sound Premiere League season by defeating the Spokane Breakers Anderson at home 3-2 on Sept. 15 and beating the EFC Vikings 7-0 on Sept. 21 in Ellensburg, Wash.
Against the Breakers, Academy goals were scored by Braden Ferreira, Devin Claflin and Brayson Harrington. Devin Claflin had an assist.
Against the Vikings, Ethan Lawson, Braden Ferreira, Alex Moate, Kyle Sater, Anrew Ferreira, Ayden Tweedy and Devin Claflin each scored once. Ethan Lawson had two assists, Ayden Tweedy and Brayson Harrington one each.
Sting U10 boys United: The Sting beat the SSC Shadow Manchester 8-0 last Saturday at Hayden Meadows. Noah Janzen scored four goals for the Sting, Alex Reyes added two goals and three assists,Jack Shrontz scored on a penalty kick and Tyler Allred also scored. Bryce Allred and Patrick Du each had assists. Slade Peressini and Tyler Allred teamed for the shutout in goal.
Idaho Thunder U11 boys Johnson: The Thunder beat the Breakers Simpson 2-0 score. Lance Gilmore scored both goals, both assisted by Caleb Calkins. Joshua Nilson and Nathan Durocher teamed for the shutout in goal.
Thunder U12 boys Halseth: The Thunder beat the Cobras Aztecs 4-2 in Othello, Wash. Jalen Skalskiy, Cameron Calabretto, Collin Bell and Cade Walker each scored goals for the Thunder, and Jadyn Freeman, Josh Brisendine and Collin Bell each had assists.
Thunder U13 girls Briseno: The Thunder beat the Cobra Panthers 2-0 in Othello, Wash. Bethany Gilmore and Maddy Lasher scored for the Thunder, and Carly Schacher had the shutout in goal.
