Roundup: Glacier, Flathead sweep Western AA volleyball matches

MISSOULA — It was a quick three-and-out for second-ranked Glacier’s volleyball team Thursday evening.
The Wolfpack (11-1 overall, 5-0 league) dumped Missoula Sentinel 25-12, 25-23, 25-16 in Western AA play. Tessa Krueger had 14 kills and Cassi Hashley five blocks for Glacier. Kayla Russell had team highs in digs with 10 and aces with three.
Kills – Glacier 39 (Tessa Krueger 14), Sentinel 22 (Echo Lenss 7). Blocks – Glacier 9 (Cassi Hashley 5), Sentinel 4 (Krista Hunton 4). Digs – Glacier 31 (Kayla Russell 10), Sentinel 43 (Lauren Cady 12). Assists – Glacier 27 (Hannah Liss 27), Sentinel 20 (Tian Harrington 18). Aces – Glacier 6 (Russell 3), Sentinel 5 (Hunton 2, Abby Hanich 2).
Flathead 3, Missoula Hellgate 0
MISSOULA — Timi Severson and Emma Andrews both had 14 kills and Severson led in blocks with five as Flathead (5-5, 3-2) swept the Knights 30-28, 25-18, 25-14 in a Western AA match.
Kills – Flathead 38 (Timi Severson 14, Emma Andrews 14), Hellgate 25 (Rachel Martens 9). Blocks – Flathead 7 (Severson 5), Hellgate 3 (Kailey Pfaff 1, Alicia Bowman 1). Digs – Flathead 48 (Iris Matulevich 18), Hellgate 40 (Kallie Elliott 12). Assists – Flathead 37 (Jessica Simmons 34), Hellgate 23 (Paula Woerlein 21). Bigfork 3, St. Ignatius 1
ST. IGNATIUS — Marissa Hiza tied for a team-high eight kills, but posted team-best numbers in aces with five and digs with 13 to lead Bigfork past St. Ignatius 26-28, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 in Class B play.
Tessa Robertson and Abby Amibon also had eight kills for Bigfork.

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown took care of Columbia Falls in three sets, winning the Northwestern A battle 25-15, 25-23, 25-10.
The Finberg sisters — Ciera and Cydney — had four kills each for Columbia Falls while Taylir Fairbank led the Wildkats in assists with eight and aces with three.

Whitefish 3, Polson 2
POLSON — Whitefish rallied to defeat Polson 20-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12 in a back-and-forth Northwestern battle royale.
Marlow Schulz topped Whitefish in kills with 13 and aces with two. Allie Schulz and Myndie Holbrook also had two aces each for Whitefish.
Chloie Huerta had 18 kills for Polson (2-2, 1-2).
