Winners announced for BBQ Bash

MOSES LAKE - Results are in for the recent Moses Lake BBQ Bash, and Kennewick's Ice harbor Brewing Co. came away with the top prize as grand champion.
The brewery finished with the highest total score in the competition, named grand champion in the chicken and ribs categories. The team from Wine Country Q, of Duvall, Wash., finished second in points and grand champion for the brisket. Grand champion in the pork butt category went to J&S BBQ Express of Auburn, Wash.
Team Schmiggitty, of Moses Lake, placed highest for their barbecue chicken, coming in eleventh out of 17 competitors at the weekend event. The team did win second in the "People's Choice" chili. This was their first time competing in a barbecue competition.
Another Moses Lake competitor, Ron Piercy, of Piercy Farms in Moses Lake, finished eleventh for pork butt and tenth in the ribs category in his second time competing at the local event.
Team Madera and the Pit Tenders were named grand champion in the Dutch oven category, finishing first in dessert and bread and fourth for main dish.
More than $5,600 in prize money was awarded for the top finishers in the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association sanctioned competition. Competition results were not available Sunday following the judging results.
