Man and woman arrested for assault

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man and woman for assault with a weapon at a pair of Cobbler Village properties in Smith Valley after an early morning altercation on Wednesday. The woman initially reported her brother said over the phone that he would “blow her house up and kill her and her kids.” Her father subsequently confronted him, reportedly grabbing a decorative sword and poking him with it, resulting in a small cut that did not require medical attention. The woman also allegedly pointed an unloaded gun at him and pulled the trigger just to show him she meant business.
A pair of county residents made fire- and water-related calls to the sheriff’s office, with one reporting a neighbor on Bald Rock Road burning his field and subsequently burning 10 feet into her property and another reporting that his neighbor on Wettington Road was pumping water from that property onto his own and told him “there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.” The water pumper was also reportedly having septic tank issues that concerned his neighbor.
A Morning Glory Lane man told a deputy his neighbor’s dog came onto his property and tried to attack his dog, which it had tried the month before. He was told to call if he saw the dog off its property again or if it acted vicious toward his dog, but he said he “may just take care of it himself.”
A man was arrested on a trio of charges including partner or family-member assault after allegedly assaulting a woman at a Montana 35 property, smashing her head on the ground. He initially left the scene, but was arrested when he returned less than an hour later.
A report of trespassing and someone taking apart a vehicle turned out to be part of a disagreement over pickup truck parts following the death of a family member. After a deputy got involved, the relatives agreed to solve the issue without arguing.
A man in his 30s was reported threatening to beat up a trio of youths on Oxford Circle, screaming that he was going to “kick the (expletive) out of everybody.” The caller reported the man had hit the youths before.

A First Avenue East woman called the Kalispell Police Department to report a potential false alarm after she received a call from an unknown man who asked if she was robbing the place and she, believing it was a telemarketer on the phone, said yes. The man then said “Well, I know your address now and I’m calling the police.” She thought it was weird and wanted police to know there was no burglary going on at that address.
A man was arrested for partner or family-member assault after allegedly beating up his girlfriend on Sixth Street West after losing his temper when she wouldn’t drop an argument. He reportedly threw her on the ground and slapped her, injuring her, and also broke her phone.
A man and woman were reported to police after shoplifting from a Third Avenue East North store, escaping with a package of ultra ribbed condoms.
