Scout volunteer receives honor

Christopher Frasier of Coeur d'Alene recently received the highest honor given to adult volunteers by the Boy Scouts of America.

With his wife, Sheila, at his side, Frasier was given the District Award of Merit on March 27, during a volunteer recognition dinner held by the Old Missions District of the Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts.

The award recognizes Frasier's extensive training and many hours of volunteer service with the organization.

Frasier has completed Scout Leader Basic Training, Journey-to-Excellence Training, Wood Badge, National Camp School - Aquatics, Range Safety Officer Training and College of Commissioner Science.

He serves as Cub Roundtable Commissioner and Merit Badge Counselor for the Old Missions District, Pack Advancement Coordinator, Pack Trainer, and Webelos den leader for Pack 299 sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Webelos den leader and Wolf den leader for Pack 220 sponsored by West Ridge Elementary of Post Falls, volunteer day camp staff for Camp Easton, Trailblazer staff for Inland Northwest Council and he will be working as waterfront director at Camp Grizzly this summer.
