Charter Academic Team completes successful year
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 11 years, 3 months AGO
The Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy Academic Team recently completed one of its most successful years ever.
The first event of the year was the North Idaho College Math Competition in November. Schools from across North Idaho descended upon NIC for a day of mathematical reasoning and problem solving.
For the second year in a row, Charter students won all six awards, taking home first- to third-place awards in the senior and non-senior divisions, and won the four-member team competition.
Later that month, the Charter Academic Team competed in the first of five meets of the Inland Empire Knowledge Bowl. This competition pitted Charter against about 20 schools from North Idaho and eastern Washington.
For the last 10 years, the Charter team has consistently been one of the top five teams. Last year Charter finished in first place.
This year, they not only finished in first place, but the school's top varsity and junior varsity teams were both undefeated. Charter's JV2 team finished in third place.
Charter also sent two teams of students to compete in the Inland Northwest Regional Science Bowl.
They competed against about 30 teams representing 20 schools and finished in second and third place.
