Laveda Quarles, 49, longtime Moses Lake, Wash. resident, died in her home, Thursday, March 27, 2014. She was born September 27, 1964 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Bessie Lee Bailey and Tommy Quarles Sr.

Laveda attended Leslie Jr. High and South Salem High School in Salem, Oreg. She worked as a private in-home caretaker. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, music and making people laugh and be happy. Her love and smile would light up a room! She was a member of New Bride Missionary Baptist Church.

Laveda was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy & Bessie Quarles, one brother Dennis Quarles and one sister Valerie Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Dasha Ferrando, Marquita Quarles both of Salem, Oreg. and Jared Quarles, Sr., of San Francisco, CA; siblings Anne Nelson, Tommy Quarles, Karen Johnson, all of Salem, Oreg., Sharon Quarles of Spokane, Wash. and Lesa Quarles of Moses Lake, Wash.; grandchildren Alexus Todd, Payton Ferrando, Cammron Ferrando, all of Salem, Oreg. and Jared Quarles, Jr. of San Francisco, CA.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 in New Bride Missionary Baptist Church, 4125 Fairview Pl. NE, Moses Lake, WA 98837 with Rev. Carolyn Williamson officiating.
