ML River Bandits first at tourney

SELAH - The 10u Moses Lake River Bandits won the Swing into Spring Tournament at McGonagle Park in Selah recently.

The 10u division featured 12 teams from across the state.

Cooper Richards, Seth Olson, Chance Conahan and Carson Janke led the way for the River Bandits in the team's first win against the Kent Bulldogs, 13-3.

Richards recorded three hits, including one home run, while Olson, Conahan and Janke each sprayed two hits.

Moses Lake continued its dominance at the plate with a 15-10 win against the Richland Badger Bombers Blue. Janke and Jackson Purcell provided three and two hits, respectively.

Cayden Hart took a perfect game into the fifth inning of the River Bandits' semifinal victory against Mercer Island, 11-0, before finishing with a one-hit shut out. Hart fanned eight batters in the win.

By the fourth inning. Moses Lake had taken a 7-0 lead in the championship game against the Silverdale Sluggers. However. the Sluggers were able to rally before Hart quieted the Silverdale bats and recorded the save just three hours after pitching a complete game against Mercer Island.

Moses Lake held on to win, 7-6.
