POLSON — The Mission Valley Elks Lodge praised six outstanding high school seniors with scholarships Saturday evening.

Sharidan Russell, Tegan Bauer and Cash Sisler, of Polson and Trinceton Brown, Tonya Hertz and Connor Daugherty, of Charlo, were each awarded a laptop computer and wireless printer “to aid them in their continued studies,” said Bob Byers, chairman of the Sara Jenne Scholarship committee for the Montana State Elks Association.

In addition to those awards, Bauer, Brown, Daugherty, Russell and Sisler were awarded $500 scholarships from the Montana Elks Association, and Russell was nominated as a national finalist, awarding her a $4,000 scholarship and putting her in contention for more scholarship awards.

“These awards represent our continued support of the youth of this valley,” Byers said. The Elks also presented $500 donations to both the Polson Youth Baseball Association and a local Cub Scout pack.
