SANDPOINT — Train travelers, adjust your schedules: Amtrak will be switching up its time tables later this month.

On April 15, Amtrak is introducing schedule changes to the Empire Builder route in an effort to mitigate serious delays due to high train volume. The new arrival times in Sandpoint will be 1:19 a.m. westbound to Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore., and 11:35 p.m. eastbound to Chicago, Ill. These times will replace the established schedule of 11:49 p.m. westbound and 2:35 a.m. eastbound.
