Big Bend streak continues after two losses to Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA - Big Bend ended its brutal opening week of NWAACC East play with two losses against Walla Walla.
The Vikings (1-6, 11-7) have dropped four games in a row after facing the top two teams in the East back-to-back and have slipped to second to last place in the East.
In game one, a catastrophic second inning left Big Bend with a 9-2 deficit that ended in an 11-8 defeat.
Walla Walla's Jake Browne hit a three-run home run and four batters later Jarod Gonzales singled to drive in two more.
The Warriors pushed four more across the plate to cap a nine-run inning.
Big Bend began to chip away when Jon Dailey hit a two-run double in the third inning. A Kyle Wagner double drove in two more runs in the fourth inning.
Entering the final frame, the Vikings had trimmed the deficit to 11-7, but only managed one run in the top of the ninth.
Mitchell Darlington was 3 for 4 and scored three runs. Dailey finished 3 for 5 with three RBIs.
Big Bend led early in the night cap, 2-1, Walla Walla was able to score seven runs between the fourth and seventh inning to complete the sweep with an 8-5 win.
Reign Letkeman was 3 for 4 with one RBI.
