QUINCY - Two Quincy men arrested recently could face additional charges in two separate burglaries of a Quincy business.

Jose Jesus Camberos Zepeda, 48, and Marco Gueta Virgen, 27, were arrested last weekend when an officer was patrolling nearby the Plaza Laundry on 13th Avenue Southwest after the business was burglarized. The officer reportedly found a back door to the business propped open. While investigating, the officer heard people inside and what sounded like hammers hitting a wall, according to police reports.

The officer heard several items drop when he announced his presence. Zepeda allegedly came out of a back room with his hands up and was taken into custody. He allegedly had socks over his hands when arrested.

Zepeda told police another person, identified as Gueta Virgen, was inside. Gueta Virgen also came out of a backroom about three minutes later and was arrested without incident.

Police found a door inside the business pried open and a large hole in the drywall. Two safes were also found damaged. Police found an electric skill saw, several crow bars, a duffel bag and a paintball mask inside, according to police reports.

Both suspects were booked into Grant County Jail on suspicious of second-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief and possession of burglary tools.

Quincy Police Sgt. Paul Snyder said the two are suspects in both robberies at Plaza Laundry as well as several other recent burglaries and could face additional charges. More than $2,000 was taken in Friday's burglary.

The incidents are still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 509-787-TIPS or 509-787-2222.
