Overland shines at Moses Lake JV Invite

MOSES LAKE - Alysha Overland didn't waste the opportunity of competing at Moses Lake's JV Invite.

The junior posted season best marks in the 100, 200 and 400 meter dash. Overland posted a time of 12.79 seconds in the 100 meters to edge teammates Casci Carpenter and Arlena Hannan.

Hannan was also second to Overland in the 200 meters, who dominated with a time of 26.59 seconds.

Overland, Hannan and Carpenter once again finish 1-3 in the 400 meters, with Overland placing first in 59.77 seconds.

Heather Carbon placed first in the pole vault in just her second meet of the season. Carbon posted a mark of 9 feet, 6 inches. Carbon also took third place in the long jump.

On the boy's side, Chadray Wright finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 24.83 seconds. Ralph Holt took first in the 800 meters and 1600 meters.

Robert Strophy placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.78 seconds and Shawn Jensen won the shot put with a mark of 37 feet, 9 inches.

Moses Lake's full varsity squad will travel to Central Valley High School for the Central Valley Invite on Saturday.
