BILLINGS — A Lockwood man charged with breaking into a house and trying to kidnap a 13-year-old girl has denied two felony charges.

Lester Harley McFerran, 36, pleaded not guilty to burglary and attempted kidnapping Tuesday during his arraignment before District Judge Gregory Todd.

The girl said she awakened on March 26 to McFerran sitting on her bed.

She said he had a pair of handcuffs and told her to put her hands behind her back.

The girl said she yelled for her brother and kicked the intruder, causing him to run off.

McFerran was arrested two days later after a sketch based on the girl’s description of the intruder was released to the public.

Todd continued McFerran’s $200,000 bail.
